Odoo for Manufacturers: From Customer Order to Finished Product in One System
What's being made on the shop floor, whether there's enough material in stock, when an order will be ready: the answers often get lost in spreadsheets and verbal agreements. Odoo's Manufacturing module brings the whole chain into one flow.

In manufacturing, the most time and money is lost where information breaks: sales promises the customer a date, the warehouse doesn't know if material will last, and the workshop hears what to make by word of mouth. Orders slip, materials are found on the last day, and nobody sees the real picture.
The product structure is written down once
In Odoo, each product gets a Bill of Materials once: which materials, in what quantities, and through which steps it passes. For a chair, that might be the frame, fabric, foam and hardware. After that, nobody recalculates it for every order, and if the structure changes, you fix it in one place.
From sale to workshop, with no manual handover
When a sales order is confirmed, the system checks the stock on hand. For what's missing, a manufacturing order or a purchase request is created automatically, depending on your setup. The salesperson enters the order, the workshop sees what to make in the system, and there are no phone calls or paper job slips in between.
Is there enough material? You know before you start
When a manufacturing order is created, the required components are reserved from stock. If something is short, you see it the moment the order opens, not after the workshop has stopped. Purchasing has time to order the material in advance.
Steps and work centers
Each step, such as cutting, assembly, painting or packing, is set up as its own work center. A worker on the shop-floor tablet (Shop Floor) starts and finishes their operation, and the time spent and quantity done go into the system by themselves. No more writing on paper and re-typing it into a computer.
Quality control and scrap
Checks are built into each step: dimensions, appearance, function. If scrap appears, it's recorded with a reason. After a few months you can see exactly at which step and why most scrap occurs, and that's numbers, not guesses.
Finished goods reach the warehouse by themselves
When a manufacturing order is closed, the material used is written off and the finished product enters stock. Sales sees the finished quantity immediately, while accounting calculates the cost based on production expenses. Everything comes from the same data, so the numbers don't differ between departments.
What management sees
Which order is at which step, who is causing delays, what was finished today and what's falling behind, all in real time. Reports show where delays pile up, so decisions rest on data, not hunches.
Which businesses it suits
Furniture and woodwork, building materials, food production, sewing and textiles, plastic and metal products. In short, any business whose products have a structure and several production steps. You can start with a small workshop and add planning, quality control and extra steps gradually as you grow.
Bottom line
To bring order to production, you first need to see the process clearly. In a free audit, we'll look at how your workshop runs and show exactly how to build the chain from order to finished product in Odoo.
